Hours:
Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Travel:
Possibly 4-5 days travel annually.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Sr. Associate Editor is responsible for producing timely, accurate, high-quality medical content to meet the educational needs of physicians and other healthcare professionals. The incumbent will provide writing, editing, and project management for various continuing medical education (CME) products and programs, collaborating with staff inside and outside the division and with physician authors, editors and advisors to produce CME resources for AAFP members and other learners. The position reports to the Manager, CME Resources Department.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, or journalism equivalent plus two to four years experience in medical writing/editing. Required skills include proficiency in writing and editing of print, audio, or multi-media content, with medical education writing and editing experience preferred. Advanced research skills, including for medical literature and the Web, and project management/ interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, to oversee projects from inception to completion in a timely, cost-effective manner, and to prioritize among multiple responsibilities. The incumbent must have the physical ability and stamina to proofread and edit lengthy and detailed audio and/or visual content. Computer skills necessary include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
