Screening Chronic Kidney Disease

The AAFP concludes that the evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits and harms for routine screening for chronic kidney disease (CKD) in asymptomatic adults. Common tests considered for CKD screening include creatinine-derived estimates of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and urine testing for albumin. (2012)
