There are strict requirements for maintaining the approval to award Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) for the ALSO Program by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
As announced in November 2011, the ALSO Program was approved for CNE by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. ALSO Sponsors are required to complete and return the Nurse Roster (2-page Word doc; About Downloading) within one week of course:

Kansas Board of Nursing (KSBN) Sponsor Requirements
- Type nurse participant name
- Alphabetize names
- Nurse participant provides signature both days
- Scan/email to the ALSO Staff within one week of course completion
The Nurse Roster is provided to sponsors on the ALSO Course Materials CD-ROM. The roster meets the requirements of two stated sections of the Nurse Practice Act Statutes and Administrative Regulations:
60-9-107 (f) (1) Each provider shall maintain documentation to verify that each participant attended the offering. The provider shall require each participant to sign a daily roster, which shall contain the following information:
A) The provider's name, address, provider number, and coordinator.
B) The date and title of the offering, and the presenter or presenters; and
C) The participant's name and license number, and the number of contact hours awarded.
60-9-107 (3) Each approved single offering CNE provider shall submit to the board the original signature roster and a typed, alphabetized roster of individuals who have completed an offering.
The Nurse Roster replaces past Nurse Attendance Verification forms and copies of the COI forms are no longer required to be sent to ALSO Staff. Any MONA forms or requirements are obsolete.
If the Nurse Roster is not completed and returned within one week of the course, the nurse attendees will get a certificate of completion, but will not be qualified to receive the CNE offered by attending your course.
The ALSO program MUST receive all Nurse Rosters via email within one week of the course end date in order to abide by the KSBN requirements.
