Be recognized for your talents and skills as a future family physician. Apply for a $600 scholarship to attend National Conference in Kansas City, MO, July 30 – August 1. Scholarships are made possible by the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Resident and Student Initiatives Fund and individual and corporate sponsors, including pharmaceutical companies. The number of scholarships in each category varies according to the level of funding. Scholarship availability is subject to change.
You must be a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and may only apply for one scholarship annually. Your application, with the required essay or report, must be received via fax, e-mail or postmarked no later than May 1.
The winning essays for the First-time Student Attendee Award, Tomorrow’s Leader Award and minority scholarships will be distributed at the conference.

Rules and Information
- You must be a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) to apply.
- You may only apply for one scholarship annually.
- If you are a previous National Conference scholarship recipient, you may not apply for the same scholarship.
- The amount of each scholarship is $600. The number of scholarships in each category is based on the level of funding secured from the AAFP Foundation Resident and Student Initiatives Fund and individual and corporate sponsors, including pharmaceutical companies.
- All scholarships are awarded at National Conference. If you are unable to attend the conference, your scholarship will be forfeited.
Deadline
Scholarship applications (with any required signatures and documentation) must be received via fax, e-mail or postmarked no later than May 1, 2009. Winners will be notified on May 29.
