President-elect of Wonca
A family physician and attorney, Richard Roberts, MD, JD, has taught in 40 countries on five continents. He led U.S. delegations to six WHO International Consultations on urinary health.
Since 1987, Dr. Roberts has practiced in a small rural community providing a full scope of family medicine services. He has supervised medical student exchanges between the U.S. and West Africa, and organized and led a six-country family medicine international colloquium. He has also led U.S. delegations on primary care to Brazil, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

Dr. Flores is among the distinguished women physicians showcased in the National Library of Medicine’s exhibit Challenging the Face of Medicine. She practices family medicine in a group practice with three other bilingual female physicians. Dr. Flores serves as the program director of the UCSF-Fresno Latino Center for Medical Education and Research, Health Career Opportunity Program, and Hispanic Centers of Excellence. She is dedicated to improving the quality of care in underserved communities and increasing the number of Latinos and other under-represented minorities in health professions.
