The National Institute for Program Director Development (NIPDD) was developed by the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD) in cooperation with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), Residency Program Solutions (RPS), and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). The NIPDD fellowship provides instruction, education, and formative experiences, and is designed for family physician educators who want to enhance and develop leadership skills in order to become better prepared as effective directors of residency programs. The program curriculum is designed for “real world” learning. The faculty (Academic Council) provide advisorship, coaching, and pearls that can be applied immediately.
