Women's Health Series -- Depression; Fibromyalgia and Pain Management

The Women's Health Series offers a one-hour CME session on Depression and a one-hour CME session on Fibromyalgia & Pain Management.

Learning Objectives

Depression
  • Recognize characteristics of the different types of depression and mood disorders and their prevalence among female patient populations.
  • Utilize appropriate diagnostic criteria to evaluate and screen patients for depression and mood disorders.
  • Prepare appropriate treatment plans for patients that include pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches to therapy.
Fibromyalgia & Pain Management
  • Compare etiologies and presentations of different types of pain, including symptomatology of fibromyalgia.
  • Evaluate research surrounding potential causes of pain – particularly fibromyalgia – and stay apprised of evolving conclusions and recommendations.
  • Formulate individualized treatment plans for patients that encompass appropriate combinations of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches, with special attention to evolving recommendations surrounding opioid-specific REMS.

This live activity, Women's Health Series - Depression; Fibromyalgia/Pain Management, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 2 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
