Step 1: Create a CME Provider account
- Go to www.aafp.org/cmea/createaccount
- Enter at least one of the following: name of organization, organization ID number, or zip code
- An AAFP account confirmation e-mail will be sent to you. Please keep a copy for your files.
Step 2: Submit Application for Certification of CME Activity

-- Collection of articles in audio, online, print or video format.
Performance Improvement in Practice
-- Long-term, practice-based education that focuses on performance measurement and systems improvement.
Point of Care CME
-- Practice-based learning that takes place in support of specific patient care.
Special Activity Areas
-- Approved life support courses, scientific exhibits and posters, and procedural training skills.
Credit Statements
-- Continuing medical education (CME) statements to be used upon written credit approval from the American Academy of Family Physicians.
