CME providers may use the following statement prior to receiving official notification of AAFP CME credit determination, but only after an application for CME credit has been received by the AAFP for review:

Abbreviated Statements for "Save the Date" Announcements
Upon written notification of credit approval, "Save the Date" announcements and advertisements may indicate that AAFP credit has been approved without using the full, official AAFP credit statement. They may read, "AAFP (Prescribed or Elective) credits approved."
In all other instances, printed announcements for an activity granted approval by the AAFP must include the appropriate official credit statement.

Approved Activity Statements
Upon written authorization from the AAFP Commission on Continuing Professional Development (COCPD), activity announcements should clearly state the type of credit (Prescribed and/or Elective) and the precise number of credits awarded.
