Acute Coronary Syndromes and Angina: Anatomy of Chest Pain: Diagnosis and Treatment of ACS

This lecture-based presentation addresses diagnosis and treatment of acute coronary syndromes and chest pain.

After completing this CME activity, you should be able to:
  1. Compare ECG tests of patients with ACS using ST-segment elevations or depressions to make an accurate diagnosis.
  2. Evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of appropriate cardiac tests with consideration for appropriate patient selection criteria.
  3. Choose effective counseling methods to educate patients on the symptoms of ACS, how it can lead to a heart attack, how a heart attack differs from a stroke and what action to take if they suspect a heart attack.
  4. Revise treatments for patients with ACS based on risk evaluations and diagnostic tests.
