Cerebrovascular Diseases: Strokes of Insight: Education, Prevention, Treatment and Management of Cerebrovascular Disease

This lecture-based presentation addresses issues of education, prevention, treatment, and management of ischemic stroke.

After completing this CME activity, you should be able to:
  1. Formulate plans to assist patients with underling risk factors for stroke in making behavioral modifications (such as smoking, lowering high blood pressure) to decrease their risk of having a stroke
  2. Evaluate strategies to educate patients on the warning signs of a stroke and integrate cultural competency into conversations with patients
  3. Propose appropriate treatment options to improve outcomes in patients who suffer a stroke
  4. Assist patients and caregivers in identifying resources and dealing with the after- effects of stroke
