Diabetes Mellitus Screening and Diagnosis: Early Catch Saves the Day—Prevention of Progression to Type 2 Diabetes
This lecture-based presentation addresses diabetes screening and diagnosis and methods to prevent progression to type 2 diabetes.

After completing this CME activity, you should be able to:
- Evaluate asymptomatic adults and children with risk factors for diabetes using the ADA’s diagnostic criteria.
- Follow the ADA screening recommendations for gestational diabetes.
- Develop a disease management plan based on the type of diabetes and any diabetes-related complications that are present in patients.
- Integrate PCPI performance measures for diabetes care in appropriate patient visits.
