Emerging Infections and Infectious Diseases: The Threat of Hospital-acquired Infections

This lecture-based presentation addresses emerging infections and infectious diseases.




This CME activity is presented by Vincent Hsu, MD, MPH.

After completing this CME activity, you should be able to:
  1. Analyze trends in emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, as applicable to their practice, and relate the significance of such diseases to patients
  2. Integrate environmental infection control guidelines into practice and relate the importance of such practices (including vaccinations) to staff
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the public health implications associated with notifiable diseases
  4. Assess protocol to report notifiable diseases in their community of practice
