Learning Objectives

After completing this CME activity, the learner should be able to:
  1. Provide an assessment for AD on a patient using at least 1 of the following diagnostic tools: mental status tests (such as the mini-mental state exam), physical and neurologic examinations, and brain imaging examinations.
  2. Counsel patients and family members who are coping with AD.
  3. Assess the treatment strategy currently being used by physicians for patients with AD, including medication use and nonpharmacologic therapy, if applicable.
