Alzheimer's Disease: New Research and Treatment Indications for Family Physicians

After reading this CME Bulletin, you should be able to:
  1. Conduct an assessment for Alzheimer's disease (AD) using at least one of the following diagnostic tools: mental status test (such as the Mini-Mental State Examination), physical and neurological examination, and brain imaging examination.
  2. Counsel patients and family members who are coping with AD.
  3. Assess the treatment strategy currently being used for a patient with AD in your practice, including medication currently being used and nonpharmacologic therapy, if applicable.
