John R. Holman, MD, MPH, is retired from the US Navy and is currently in private practice. He earned a medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed a family medicine residency at Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, CA. He completed a faculty development fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, WA, and earned a master's degree in public health at the University of Washington.

Patrick E. McBride, MD, MPH, is a professor of medicine and family medicine, the Associate Dean for Students, and the Associate Director of the Preventive Cardiology Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed a family medicine residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC, and earned a master's degree in public health at the University of South Carolina. He has represented the AAFP on many national guideline panels.
