Mindy A. Smith, MD, is a professor in the department of family medicine in the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University (MSU). She was an associate editor for Family Medicine for 18 years, has edited several books, and is deputy editor of Essential Evidence Plus. She is a teacher and mentor in the MSU Primary Care Faculty Development Fellowship Program.

R. Wayne Blount, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Emory University School of Medicine.
