American Academy of Family Physicians Launches First in a Series of Three CME Cases on Pain Management

SAN DIEGO -- The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) strives to provide its members and other healthcare providers with up-to-the-minute clinical information and ongoing educational opportunities. The following new initiative is designed to help physicians improve their quality of patient care and the quality of their patient lives.

The AAFP is launching the first in a series of three online continuing medical education (CME) cases on pain management. The new cases will address chronic non-malignant pain, pain control at the end of life and diversion prevention. The first case on chronic non-malignant pain will be available in late Oct. 2002. The second and third cases will be available in late 2002 and early 2003. Cases will be available for one year to AAFP members and other visitors to aafp.org.
