McDonald's Corporation has provided the AIM initiative with financial support to be used towards sustaining the AAFP's fitness initiative. Over the last three years, McDonald's, Balanced Active Lifestyles program, has reached out to consumers to help them make informed health choices. The AAFP and McDonald's continue to work together to identify opportunities to develop educational tools and resources for family physicians to use with patients.
"We are thrilled to partner with organizations such as McDonald's as we continue to work toward educating our patients and the public on health and food choices," says Michael Fleming, M.D., AAFP past president. "By working together, we have the potential to help millions of Americans make healthy nutritional choices."
As one of the largest medical specialty organizations with 94,000 members, the AAFP continues to seek new and innovative ways to reach the public with health, fitness and wellness information. The AAFP welcomes partners such as McDonald's who support family physician's efforts to fight the battle against obesity and are making an effort to provide healthy food choices to consumers.

Founded in 1947, the AAFP represents 105,900 physicians and medical students nationwide. It is the only medical society devoted solely to primary care.
Approximately one in four of all office visits are made to family physicians. That is 240 million office visits each year — nearly 87 million more than the next largest medical specialty. Today, family physicians provide more care for America’s underserved and rural populations than any other medical specialty. Family medicine’s cornerstone is an ongoing, personal patient-physician relationship focused on integrated care.
