UpToDate

The American Academy of Family Physicians is pleased to recommend to its members UpToDate, a resource specifically designed to answer the clinical questions that arise in daily practice at the point of care.

UpToDate's more than 3,000 expert physician editors and authors review and update their content on a continuous basis and a new, peer-reviewed version is issued every four months. The published evidence is summarized and recommendations are made for patient care.

Goals and Objectives

This service will provide family physicians with current answers to clinical questions. With UpToDate, you will be able to:

Access information reflecting best current practices on any aspect of family medicine, including dermatology, office orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology and pediatrics (in development), plus access to nine medical specialties
Recognize the clinical manifestations of a wide variety of diseases and disorders, and describe current options for diagnosis, management, and therapy, including the efficacy, doses, and interactions of individual drugs
Evaluate and treat system-specific manifestations of systemic disorders
Educate patients regarding screening and prevention
Earn AMA Category 1 credit for time spent actively using UpToDate
