Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Medicare Part D)
Beginning November 15, 2005, all Medicare recipients could enroll in a new insurance plan for prescription drugs, the Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (also known as Medicare Part D).
Several tools are available through the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and their Web site medicare.gov to help you and your patients decide which plan best suits their needs.
Resources are also available on the CMS web site and include an overview of Part D; formulary information for physicians; and exceptions and appeals instructions (1-page PDF; About PDFs) and coverage determination request form (1-page PDF; About PDFs).
Finally, if you have concerns about Part D, you can use the link below to send a message to CMS.
