American Board of Family Medicine, Director Nominations
Screening for nominations of American Board of Family Medicine directors is based upon the following:
- The nominee's current and/or past medical experience should include a substantial amount of clinical experience devoted to family medicine.
- The nominee must have demonstrated leadership and understanding in the philosophy of family medicine.
- The nominee must submit evidence of willingness and physical ability to meet the commitments required by this appointment.
- The nominee shall be nominated by his/her constituent chapter or the AAFP Board of Directors.
- The nominee shall be an AAFP member in good standing with a minimum of one re-election to membership in the Academy.
- The nominee shall be a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.
The constituent chapter nomination shall be accompanied by a properly documented curriculum vitae and photograph. (1975) (2008)
