American Board of Family Medicine, Director Nominations


Screening for nominations of American Board of Family Medicine directors is based upon the following:
  1. The nominee's current and/or past medical experience should include a substantial amount of clinical experience devoted to family medicine.
  2. The nominee must have demonstrated leadership and understanding in the philosophy of family medicine.
  3. The nominee must submit evidence of willingness and physical ability to meet the commitments required by this appointment.
  4. The nominee shall be nominated by his/her constituent chapter or the AAFP Board of Directors.
  5. The nominee shall be an AAFP member in good standing with a minimum of one re-election to membership in the Academy.
  6. The nominee shall be a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.
The constituent chapter nomination shall be accompanied by a properly documented curriculum vitae and photograph. (1975) (2008)
