Nuclear Disaster Planning
The American Academy of Family Physicians supports civilian and military disaster planning including disaster planning for nuclear accidents and the protection from radioactive energy sources. Family physicians are encouraged to become knowledgeable in the adverse effects and early treatment of excessive exposure to radioactive energy sources. This should include knowledge in the mobilization of support services in the event of a nuclear accident. (1987) (2005)
