Peer Review, Confidentiality

In the public interest, peer review by medical staffs, medical societies, medical groups, health plans, and other entities should be confidential, protected, and not subject to disclosure or discovery. The AAFP supports legislation intended to maximize protection from discovery and to restore peer review protections taken away by the courts. (1998) (April Board 2009-Reaffirmed)
