Physician's Right Relative to Imposed Administrative Costs
The Academy believes that physicians should be able to charge and receive payment for administrative requirements imposed by any public or private health plan, or by any regulatory authority, employer, or other entity, unless such charges are prohibited by contract or regulation. This would include, but not be limited to, the costs associated with changes of individual prescriptions made solely for formulary compliance. This would also include completion of Family Medical Leave Act and other forms not directly related to patient care. (2003) (2007)
