Political Action

The AAFP recommends and urges individual members and constituent chapters to devise ways to remain in effective contact with legislators at the state and federal levels, including supporting FamMedPAC and state and territorial family medicine PACs.

The Academy will continue to work with political parties and candidates to help them to recognize the importance primary care and the fundamental role of the family physician in the health care delivery system and the need to increase the number of family physicians. (1972) (2008)
