AAFP-Aetna meeting

June 12, 2008: The AAFP staff met with Aetna leadership in Hartford, CT as a continuation of our semi-annual meetings with large payers. Discussions on subjects such as key coding and payment issues, Aetna's physician measurement and performance programs, administrative simplification (prior authorizations), and patient-centered medical home pilots occurred. Particular focus was placed on adequate payment for immunizations and in-office laboratory tests (i.e. Prothrombin, glucose, etc.).
