May 23, 2008: The AAFP President-Elect and staff met with WellPoint leadership in Denver, CO as a continuation of our semi-annual meetings with large payers. Discussions on subjects such as key coding and payment issues, WellPoint’s Zagat health survey, e-prescribing, low back pain program, and generics utilization occurred. Particular focus was placed on adequate payment for immunizations and in-office laboratory tests (i.e. Prothrombin, glucose, etc.).
