AAFP-CIGNA HealthCare Meeting

July 1, 2008: CIGNA hosted another annual payer meeting in Hartford, CT. They provided updates on their participation in medical home pilots and discussed specific payment issues. CIGNA also introduced a new feature on their member Web page that they feel will provide members with access to more information with which to make thoughtful decisions relating to their health care. CIGNA also announced that although the multi-district lawsuit settlement is now over, CIGNA has incorporated many business and process improvements into its existing workflows. Further, it has committed to maintain and improve these workflows and to work collaboratively with the AAFP to deliver solutions that support the delivery of quality health care by providing information that can help manage patient care more effectively, while reducing administrative complexities.
