What We're Working On

Payment: Contracting, Coding, Bundling and Claim Denials -- AAFP hears your concerns about payment. Our Private Sector Advocacy team works directly with payers to help ensure that you're compensated fairly for the care you provide.
Pay-for-Performance -- The AAFP supports pay-for-performance (P4P) programs that focus on improved patient outcomes and provide positive physician incentives. Read about AAFP advocacy efforts regarding P4P.
Physician Measurement -- AAFP supports transparency in information about health care costs and quality of care. Physician measurement and reporting must be part of this transparency and be based on nationally recognized performance measures and appropriate guidelines. Read more about the AAFP policy and advocacy efforts related to physician measurement.
Tiered Networks -- The practice of segregating physicians based on claims data and/or performance ratings can disrupt the physician-patient relationship and may devalue primary care. Read about the AAFP's response to this practice.
Administrative Simplification -- AAFP members should be able to operate their practices without significant burdens or costs associated with administrative paperwork. Read about AAFP advocacy activities surrounding administrative simplification.
Retail Health Clinics -- AAFP does not endorse retail health clinics and believes that such health care delivery could interfere with the medical home. Read more about the AAFP's response to this topic.
