Non-face-to-face services
Non-face-to-face delivery of care aligns with the patient-centered medical home model of care, which the AAFP and other Primary Care Physician Specialties advocate as a way to enhance patient care and support payment reform. It is yet another means to offer a full spectrum of care options that maximizes the benefits of a medical home. Read the full policies on Payment for Non Face-to-Face Physician Services and e-visits.

The new and revised CPT codes that define non-face-to face services took effect on January 1, 2008, and represent the culmination of several years of teamwork by the AAFP, AAP, and ACP. Now, members can bill and be paid for new telephone service codes and online patient services. Read the AAFP News Now article.
