State Government Relations

An old adage refers to states as "the laboratories of democracy." Many ideas examined each year in Congress are issues percolating up from the states. With the 99 state legislative chambers nearly evenly split between parties--many by narrow margins--states prove fertile grounds for the advancement of new ideas in public policy. Consequently, in an era of increasing partisan tensions and legislative term limits, state government relations proves an increasingly subtle art.
