Public Reporting the Right Way
Public reporting of physician quality data must be accurate. To that end, the AAFP recently joined other leading business, consumer, health insurance and physician groups in endorsing the Patient Charter for Physician Performance Measurement, Reporting and Tiering Programs. Under the charter, physicians may examine and correct their own data before the information goes public. Insurers must allow an outside review of their criteria and methodology, eliminating "black box" processes and creating transparency.• AAFP News Now coverage
