Continuing Medical Education for Physician Office Laboratories

The American Academy of Family Physicians Proficiency Testing Department is pleased to offer physicians the opportunity to receive continuing medical education (CME) credits for the participation, review and/or oversight of AAFP-PT in their office laboratories. Included in each issue of the P.O.L. Insight are questions pertaining to the testing kit, the PT Handbook and the Insight. Answers to the questions should be reported on the test answer sheet (found in the PT Handbook) and returned to AAFP to be eligible to receive 4 hours of prescribed credit (Category 1) CME by the AAFP.

The AAFP-PT is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® Program. P.A.C.E.® credit is available to qualified laboratory personnel for review of PT material and successfully completion of the questions. AAFP-PT is also an approved provider for California laboratory personnel through the P.A.C.E.® program.
