Leonard Fromer, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Leonard M. Fromer is a past president of the California Academy of Family Physicians and a member of its board of directors.

Dr. Fromer has been the Chair of the Commission on Health Care Services for the American Academy of Family Physicians and serves as a consultant to the American Medical Informatics Association, California Department of Health Services, and World Foundation for Studies of Female Health. He currently is a member of the AAFP Commission on Quality. In the past, Dr. Fromer served as a consultant to the American Medical Association. Additionally, he was a nominee to the National Committee on Vital Health Statistics (NCVHS) of the US Department of Health and Human Services. He is an assistant professor of family medicine at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine and at the Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Fromer has contributed numerous research articles and currently is a member of the advisory board of the state of California IMAP (Integrating Medicine and Public Health) Program on Allergy and Asthma. He also chairs the Medical Leadership Council on Cultural Proficiency in Health Care.

After graduating magna cum laude from State University of New York (SUNY) in Albany, New York, he received his MD, also magna cum laude, at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and completed his residency at the University of California Irvine/Long Beach Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Fromer is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.
