AAFP HIPAA Manuals

The AAFP is now offering the "HIPAA Privacy and Security Changes Under the HITECH Act Manual: A How To Guide For Your Medical Practice" as part of its HIPAA manual package.

This manual, which supplements the HIPAA Privacy and Security manuals (see below), explains the provisions of the HITECH Act, including important changes to HIPAA privacy and security rules. It follows a step-by-step approach to help you understand, implement and comply with the new requirements. Keep in mind that elements of HIPAA HITECH were implemented on February 17, 2010.

Detailed checklists, how-to guides and sample documents (including a revised Business Associate Agreement) are included to help your practice implement, train and monitor compliance with the HITECH Act.
