This manual, which supplements the HIPAA Privacy and Security manuals (see below), explains the provisions of the HITECH Act, including important changes to HIPAA privacy and security rules. It follows a step-by-step approach to help you understand, implement and comply with the new requirements. Keep in mind that elements of HIPAA HITECH were implemented on February 17, 2010.
Detailed checklists, how-to guides and sample documents (including a revised Business Associate Agreement) are included to help your practice implement, train and monitor compliance with the HITECH Act. The manual also contains an overview and a glossary of terms, which you can use as training tools for physicians and staff.
