Bulletin Board Etiquette (Netiquette)

  1. You are fully responsible for the content you post. Don't post content that violates the copyright, trademark, patent or other intellectual property right of any third party -- and remove any posting you have made if you learn you have violated this provision.
  2. Advertising or promoting of products and services is expressly prohibited on the bulletin board. Actions in violation of this rule can and will result in removal from the bulletin board.
  3. If you are giving your opinion on a product or service, please make a statement about any actual or perceived conflicts of interest you may have. If you don't, other members will most likely confront you about your motives.
  4. Please do not type in all capital letters. This is considered the equivalent of shouting. (However, using all capital letters for one or two words denoting emphasis is fine.)
  5. Treat other members with respect. Use "I" language when expressing opinions.
  6. Please identify yourself and your location when you post content.
  7. As much as possible, please try to keep posts on the topic of the AAFP News Now story under discussion. If you would like to discuss another story, please click the link "new topic" and start a new discussion.
  8. If your response or question is highly specific to one post or user, consider e-mailing that person directly as opposed to posting to the entire group (e.g., conversation about mutual acquaintances, meeting up at a conference, etc.). To send a separate e-mail, you will need to create a new message using the e-mail address provided in the post.
  9. You acknowledge and agree that you use and/or rely on any information obtained through the bulletin board at your own risk. AAFP does not in any manner endorse the content of the bulletin board and cannot and will not vouch for its reliability.
  10. When you post content, you grant AAFP the right to use it. Specifically, you give AAFP the royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, exclusive and fully sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such content in whole or in part, world-wide, and to incorporate it in other works, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed.
I have opinions about AAFP News Now. How can I share them?
