The Academy's Americans in Motion project is developing the AIM to Change toolkit for your use with patients. The kit contains resources for FPs and supporting patient education materials.

Call (800) 944-0000 and press 4 to reserve your copy in advance; for more information, click here.

The toolkit will help you encourage patients to do three things:
1. Engage in physical activity.
2. Eat a healthy diet.
3. Maintain emotional well-being.

The resources in the toolkit are intended to show family physicians how to open a dialogue with patients, encourage fitness by recommending simple changes and capitalize on the 'teachable moments' during patient visits," says Sarah McMullen, AAFP's public health initiatives manager.

The AIM to Change toolkit is free; there is a $3.95 shipping fee. Scheduled for distribution in July, the toolkit will be available in hard copy (Item No. 1936), as a CD-ROM (Item No. 1937) or as a combination of the two (Item No. 1938).
