CDC Launches New Contact Center Hotline

By News Staff
4/6/2005

If you or your patients have called the CDC for immunization information lately, you may have noticed a change in where those calls are going. That's because beginning in mid-March, the National Immunization Information Hotline was replaced with a new service -- the CDC-INFO Contact Center.

A new phone number, (800) CDC-INFO [232-4636], connects callers to this integrated hotline service. In addition to immunizations, callers can learn about topics such as HIV/AIDS, STDs, disease outbreaks and other health issues in the news, and autism. Plus, the new service accommodates both English- and Spanish-speaking callers; no more need for separate phone lines.

Physicians, take note that Vaccine Information Statements have been updated to show the new contact center number.
