CHiT recently restructured the content on its Web site and added a series of tutorials designed to move FPs through the process of deciding on, purchasing and implementing EHR system.
"With this change, we are outlining an EHR adoption program for physicians. Those wanting to adopt EHRs for their practice can now get with the program," said Steven Waldren, M.D., assistant director of CHiT.
Tutorial topics include contracting and pricing, EHR features and functions, free or open-source software, and getting ready for and selecting an EHR. The site also contains tutorials on hardware, networking and the steps involved in implementing an EHR. In addition, the CHiT site offers interactive tools, including an opportunity for those new to EHR technology to connect with an FP in their area who has a similar practice and who already has implemented an EHR.
