If you're needing CME credit to finish out the year but can't find any nearby programs -- and if attending courses out of town is out of the question this time of year -- look no further than your practice's mailbox. A new "Family Medicine: CME Clinical Programs" brochure that mailed at the end of last month is your guide to all of the Academy's self-study programs and opportunities.
Some of the most popular courses listed in the six-page brochure include family medicine board review, geriatrics and women's health. Clinical procedures self-study packages listed in the brochure are designed to enhance specific procedural skills, such as colonoscopy, soft-tissue surgery, and joint injection and aspiration.
Many of the courses listed are available in multiple formats, including video, DVD, cassette, CD-ROM and even MP3; item numbers will change according to which format is ordered. For a complete listing of courses and options, consult your brochure or the AAFP's online catalog. You'll find the courses in the "Self-Study Learning" section under "Continuing Medical Education." Courses also may be ordered by calling (800) 944-0000.
