The Association of American Medical Colleges' Organization of Resident Representatives is seeking nominations for its 2004 Community Service Award.
The award, designed to encourage a service ethic among residents, recognizes those who have made contributions to their communities. Those contributions can be any extra-curricular activity designed to meet the health or other human needs of the communities where the residents live and train. The deadline for nominations is June 30.
Only residents training at an AAMC member institution are eligible to receive the award; nominations must be made through an ORR member or representative of AAMC's Group on Resident Affairs. The award consists of a $500 donation to the winner's charity of choice and an expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where the recipient will be honored Nov. 5 during the AAMC annual meeting.
