AAFP Offers Fundamentals of Management Course

Physicians interested in honing their business and leadership skills and improving organizational operations -- and who also enjoy saving money -- will be happy to learn that the AAFP has the perfect venue for achieving these goals: the Fundamentals of Management seminar, March 1 - 5 in San Antonio. Registering before Jan. 6 will save you $150.

Fundamentals of Management for Family Physicians
The five-day seminar combines plenary presentations with small-group discussions and exercises and covers a broad range of material designed to help participants become more effective managers and leaders. The seminar includes the following general sessions: Physician as Manager, Managing Finances, Organizational Cultural Competence, Conflict Resolution, Managing People/Understanding Your Organization, Quality Improvement, Business, and Strategic Planning and Leadership.

The entire Fundamentals of Management seminar is acceptable for up to 34.5 prescribed CME credits and is open only to active Academy members and practice administrators who attend with an AAFP member. Participants who attend all five days of the seminar and successfully complete a final report receive an FOM Certificate of Completion.
