American Family Physician and Family Practice Management just spread their wings a bit wider to reach health care professionals, researchers and the public. How? AFP and FPM now are participating in the National Library of Medicine's "LinkOut" program. That means anyone who finds an AFP or FPM citation in a search of PubMed (NLM's bibliography site) can link to the full text of the article on AAFP's Web site. They'll click on the button "Free full text from AFP" or FPM.
The process works for articles published from 1998 on.
"PubMed is used by thousands of physicians, researchers and others to find articles in biomedical journals," says Robert Edsall, FPM editor-in-chief and AFP editorial director. "Formerly, AFP abstracts were in PubMed. Now, through LinkOut, readers can come straight to our sites for the full articles and can get familiar with our publications."
