As the end of the year approaches, you may be tying up loose ends. If you're up for re-election to AAFP membership this year, one of those loose ends is ensuring you've earned -- and reported -- 150 CME credits between Jan. 1, 2003 and Dec. 31, 2005.
Of the 150 CME credits required for AAFP membership, 75 must be Prescribed credits and at leat 25 must be from a group learning experience. You have until March 31 to report your credits. Don't forget to report teaching, publication, presentation, research and enrichment credits.
AAFP's online CME Center offers a member-only page that allows you to check your re-election status, learn more about CME requirements and report CME.
In December, the Academy will begin reporting members' CME credits to the American Board of Family Medicine. A new benefit to active members, the CME reports to ABFM will be sent weekly from December to August 2006, which is ABFM's cut-off date for summer certification examinations.
