Call it the AAFP biathlon: Earn CME credit in not one, but two courses -- and hit the ski slopes after the sessions.

For one week in February, the Copper Mountain Resort in Copper Mountain, Colo., will host two Academy CME courses: Chronic Disease Management: A Case-Based Approach is scheduled for Feb. 17-19, and Sports Medicine: Strategies for Treating Athletes will be Feb. 20-25.

The chronic disease management course will feature case studies on several common chronic ailments, such as diabetes, coronary artery disease, stroke and arthritis. Use of small-group sessions is expected to facilitate interactive learning.

The sports medicine course is designed to broaden participants' approaches to managing sports-related medical conditions and to explain new and progressive therapeutic strategies and technologies. The course is intended to help participants preparing to take the certification/recertification exam leading to a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine.

The two courses may be taken individually, but registrants who sign up for both will receive $50 off the total for both courses. In addition, participants who register before Jan. 17 will receive early-bird discounts. Special rates on lift tickets, equipment rental and lessons are also available for participants and their family members.

More information about these and other AAFP Courses and Conferences is available online or by calling (800) 926-6890.
