The AAFP's National Research Network, or NRN, is seeking medical practices to take part in a pilot study of a survey designed to assess clinician and staff member opinions about health care quality and patient safety in medical offices.

The NRN will conduct the study, which is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, in collaboration with Westat, a private research organization based in Washington, D.C. The purpose of the survey is to provide medical practices with a tool to improve their internal patient safety culture and provide better care.

- participate in a training phone call with NRN staff members,
- ask all practice staff members and clinicians to complete the patient safety culture survey, and
- work with the NRN to make sure an adequate response rate is reached.
Medical practices that participate in the survey process will receive a stipend to cover their time and expenses.
