Download 2010 Shots Schedules for Smartphones, PCs, Handheld Devices
By News Staff
"Shots 2010 On-Line" can be downloaded to PCs and also is available as a mobile Web application that is compatible with iPhone and iTouch devices, the Blackberry Storm and the Palm Pre. With the online version, PC users can access additional details about the vaccines included in each schedule, including full color disease images, as well as information about risk communication, epidemiology and vaccine brand names -- all by clicking on the vaccine name.
For Pocket PC users, Shots 2010 is available in a free version for devices using Windows Mobile 5 or Mobile 6. Palm OS users will have to wait a few weeks for a free Shots 2010 version they can download, however. For now, they still can access Shots 2009 at no charge.
In addition, current users of Skyscape's PDA medical software who choose to purchase the Shots software can take advantage of Skyscape's Smartlink technology, which allows clinicians to cross-reference Skyscape's fully integrated portfolio of 500-plus clinical, drug and diagnostic resources. Thus, for example, users can reference a disease from one resource and receive appropriate drug recommendations specifically for that focus, without having to search the complete drug guide. Skyscape subscribers also receive quarterly updates automatically.
The Shots program was developed by the Group on Immunization Education of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, which seeks to enhance the knowledge of family medicine educators by offering resources on immunizations.
