The AAFP is seeking abstracts for the fourth International Family Medicine Development Workshop Sept. 13-15 in Tucson, Ariz. The workshop's theme is "Equipping Others for Sustainable Health Outcomes: Leaving a Global Legacy."
Students and residents are encouraged to submit abstracts before April 30. Abstracts from family physicians and health professionals beyond the speciality of family medicine are welcome as well. All submissions, including works in progress, will be considered. However, specific interest has been expressed in the following themes:
- optimizing international resident and student experiences;
- breadth/depth of international consultations;
- international partnership development -- public and private models;
- family physician training -- residency vs. retraining models; and
- sustainability implications for short-term international projects or partnerships.
The workshop will focus on connecting health professionals with people and places and will address the latest in global family medicine development. Share your experiences and learn from others.
