Doug Campos-Outcalt, M.D., M.P.A., associate chair of the family and community medicine department at the University of Arizona, Phoenix, and 2005-06 chair of the former AAFP Commission on Clinical Policies and Research, will present the webcast. After Campos-Outcalt's 45-minute presentation, participants may submit questions.

- describe the expected morbidity and mortality from seasonal influenza,
- describe clinical symptoms of influenza and the role of laboratory confirmation,
- identify interventions and treatment options,
- recognize the stages of a pandemic disease outbreak, and
- describe the role of the family physician in response to pandemic influenza.
Confirmation and access information will be sent to webcast registrants in advance. At press time, AAFP staff expected the 400 available "seats" for the program to be taken by Oct. 19 and suggested that those who register for the live webcast should consider using an overhead projector to have others watch the program at the same time.
Those who miss the live version can access the archived webcast in early November at CME Topics in the News.
